Build Your Imagination For Students' Vocabulary About Things In A House

All we have great talents, skills and ability that make us unique to help students to grow. But, sometimes we find some students prefer watching  their smartphones to taking notes about things in a house before learning writing a short room description. Don’t lose hope. Children wants to see the magic in their smartphones when they want to learn something new. So, build your imagination. Imagination is language of your soul. Pay attention to all of your imagination about things in a house. Create it with accurate description. We believe you can help them to discover things they want to study. Here are the steps to help them to learn things in a house.

First, Choose Vocabulary About Things in A House.

Without vocabulary students can do nothing to describe. They need this skill so that readers can imagine their text. You can find things in a house. Begin with things in a living room.  Living room is a part of a house used for relaxing or entertaining. You can entertain your guests, dance around  or watch on mobile phone  every world event in every part of the planet broadcast straight while having a cup of tea or coffee inside. The room is also called a lounge room in Australian English or sitting room in British English. There are sofa, coffee table, rug and some more.

I usually write in the kitchen although it is not right place. Kitchen is where you preparing food for yourself or family. Here you can mix chocolate cake ingredients in order to make chocolate cake. After baking 30 – 50 minutes, placing on the wire rack, you can frost the chocolate cake in a fridge. Kitchen does not have only a fridge, but also oven, stove and more things in a house.

Second, Design Your Interactive Audio Visual Media About Things In A House.

In learning new words about Things in a House, your students need interaction. They aren’t passive one in learning process. So, your learning media must be designed attractively to stimulate. To engage someone study English without audio visual is not  a good strategy. 65% humans are visual learners and they will become faster respondents to visual information. Visuals are key to capture English learning in the community. Even, did you know 90% information absorbed to brain is visual and processed 60.000 x faster than text?  So take this chance. Think to build your imagination and create your audiovisual media to attract your students learning everywhere they want.

Third, Offer A Trial.

After creating your audiovisual media about things they want to study, you are expected to offer a trial session. From this session, you may ensure that your students are focusing on the media you have designed, some distractions must be avoided,  a number of expectations, activities in observation and evaluation for improvement. After trying your media, take note their reviews. Sometimes students feel boring even hate to study in a hot classroom. They want something fresh and green places to study. We, teachers must care and need extra work to design learning media that can be stored in a personal computer and accessed by a smartphone. Now, watch the following video! Fourth, Share What Your Students Have Done.

Sharing what your students have done is a must but it’s not a command. We think students are not only in your classroom but those who are studying English as foreign language around the world.
